Gibson J-50 Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1950)

Gibson J-50 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1950), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
 
Overall length is 40 1/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Light to moderate wear overall; finish is unfaded without much checking but some dings and pickwear. This guitar does have a discreet and well repaired headstock crack (that you really have to look to see!) which makes it a more affordable alternative to the average early-50's J-50. There is a strap button on the side of the heel and an unusual metal endpin, otherwise a nice original guitar. Very fine sound; an excellent player's Gibson flattop from a very fine era for these guitars. Generally Excellent Condition.
