Lyon & Healy Washburn Shrine Model #5330 Soprano Ukulele , c. 1928

Lyon & Healy Washburn Shrine Model #5330 Model Soprano Ukulele, c. 1928, made in Chicago, natural mahogany finish, flamed mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, gig bag case.
 
Overall length is 21 1/4 in. (54 cm.), 8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) width, and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 5/8 in. (346 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.). A nice example overall; this uke has been fairly well played but not abused. There is some general wear overall and scrapes to the finish, heavier wear to the top corners of the headstock. There is one visible 1 1/2" grain crack to the back, and some slightly sloppy glue by the binding on the bottom edge. The bridge has a repaired split through the pins, and has been glued back down-solid, but more visible than we would prefer. This is an exceptionally nice sounding and playing uke, and one of the rarest and coolest high-grade ukuleles of the 1920's. Generally Excellent Condition.
