Fender Jaguar Solid Body Electric Guitar (1969)

Fender Jaguar Solid Body Electric Guitar (1969)

Fender Jaguar Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1969), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 267267, sunburst finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.

An extremely nice CBS-era Jaguar, all original and in beautifully preserved shape. This guitar has the expected '69 features: bound neck with block inlay, blended 3-color sunburst, black transition logo with gold edging. The finish is the typical transition style seen in 1969...heavier than the Pre-CBS laquer but not at thick and glossy as the 1970 and beyond Polyester. An original red plastic Fender Bodyguard ("By Parker") is still with the guitar, but currently not attached-the foam lining left some light scarring on the body edges. The flip-up mute plate is ipresent but not functional-the foam mute itself has disentegrated.

Despite recent gains in popularity the Jaguar remains an under-appreciated guitar with several interesting features. The scale length is shorter than other professional grade Fender guitars and the pickups are optimized for clarity and crispness…factors that led to the Jaguar losing popularity in the late '60's (right around the time this one was built!) as twang went out and distortion and crunch came in! 1969 era Jaguars are fairly rare compared to their early '60's counterparts. Nevertheless this was still the top-of-the line Fender solidbody in 1969 and remains a very high quality guitar.

Overall length is 40 1/4 in. (102.2 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). All original and nicely preserved; some finish marring on the edges from an old Fender Bodyguard (included!) but only minor wear beyond that. Very nice player- includes the OHSC in excellent shape. Excellent Condition.
