Style 0 Soprano Ukulele, made by C. F. Martin , c. 1925 Style 0 Model Soprano Ukulele, made by C. F. Martin, c. 1925, made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard.
Here's a bit of an oddity in a Martin ukulele-a true unlabeled example. Many ukes from the 1920's and '30's that are similar to Martins are often erroneously credited to the Nazereth firm-this one really is an unmarked Martin. This is unusual as nearly all Martin instruments are stamped either with the company's logo or for a wholesale or retail seller like Ditson. This may have been made for a seller wno requested ubmarked instruments or may indeed have been one of the oft-discussed but seldom seen instruments made by an employee for personal use. At any rate it is a good sounding 1920's Syle 0, the plainest of Martin's uke stable. Overall length is 19 3/4 in. (50.2 cm.), 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 1/2 in. (343 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.). A good player with a few small crack repairs, some general wear and what looks like a partial overspray to the top, some of which is rubbed away. Not the prettiest Martin uke we have had but a good playing and sounding "gigger". Very Good + Condition. Item # 3800 This item has been sold.
