Fender Jazz Bass Model Electric Bass Guitar (1965), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

A very early-CBS era Jazz bass, nicely original and and well preserved. Pearl dot rosewood fingerboard (no binding), transition gold logo, vibrant sunburst finish and great Pre-CBS-style deeply colored tortoise nitrocellulose pickguard. Lightweight and extremely resonant, with a singing midrangey tone and plenty of attack.
 
Overall length is 46 1/2 in. (118.1 cm.), 14 1/16 in. (35.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.). Overall very nice, a well-cared for instrument. Most of the finish is excellent ; there is a large spot of loss to the back which appears to be the result of a botched sticker removal, and some armwear to one spot on the face. The pickups and pots are original but the wiring has been somewhat modified with added resistors between the pots and Gibson-style braided wire replacing the Fender cloth wire on the 'hot' leads. It appears the original owner was especially picky about noise and went to great lengths to attempt to shield this bass, when we first examined it EVERYTHING inside was wrapped in old tinfoil! Rewiring to original Fender spec would not be difficult, but we do note that this is much quieter than the average 1965 Jazz Bass and so have left it as is! All hardware original, including the chrome covers and all screws! Includes a very nice OHSC. Very Good + Condition.
