Fender Jazz Bass Electric Bass Guitar (1962)

Fender Jazz Bass Model Electric Bass Guitar (1962), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Here is a truly wonderful Fender bass…an early three-knob Jazz Bass in used but extremely original condition. The neck is dated DEC 62, the pots are from the ninth week of '63 so the bass would have been sold early that year but it still carries most of the traits of a '61 'stack-knob' including the individual mutes and outside grounding strip. Lightweight and perfectly balanced, with a very upfront bright and powerful sound with plenty of character. This bass is one of the finest Fenders we have seen in a long time and carries a serious vibe, for both the Jaco fan and the classic Fender bass conoisseur.
Overall length is 46 7/8 in. (119.1 cm.), 14 1/8 in. (35.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) deep. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). A very original bass, with some honest play wear overall, most noticeably to the back and edges. Neck is beautifully worn in, and the original frets are amazingly well preserved as the only owner always used flatwound strings. No changed parts; every screw is original including the oft-lost original flat-bottom cover screws. The only modification is three patched screw holes in the upper horn from the metal saxaphone strap attachment this long-serving bass player used for many years. We removed this little chrome geegaw, but it is included as are the original mutes. Simply as great playing and sounding as old Jazz Basses get! Very Good + Condition.
