Fender Precision Bass Electric Bass Guitar (1963)

Fender Precision Bass Model Electric Bass Guitar (1963), made in Fullerton, California, Lake Placid Blue lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
A great playing example of a pre-CBS custom color Fender bass, with obvious play wear but no major modifications or alterations. This instrument carries a neck date of OCT 63 and has all the desirable early-1960's features including 'clay' dot fingerboard inlay, 'mint green' heavy celluloid pickguard, low L-series serial number, early lacquer finish with the visible 'paint stick' mark in the neck pocket, reverse Kluson tuning gears and 'spaghetti' style Fender logo. While Lake Placid Blue is not one of the rarer custom colors, true pre-CBS examples like this are hard to come by. A true relic of the 'Surf' era and a great bass for any style of music.
Overall length is 46 in. (116.8 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) deep. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Very original condition with considerable finish wear to the back and edges, face still very attractive. All original except one pot replaced and fingerrest is a reproduction. Very Good + Condition.
